On the previous day Grand had not come for his usual appointment . Rieux was worried and went round to his house in the middle of the morning . He was not there . Everyone was informed . At about eleven o ’ clock Rambert came to the hospital to tell the doctor that he had seen Grand wandering around the streets with a strange look on his face . Then he vanished from sight . The doctor and Tarrou set off by car to look for him .
