«О Кергеленах, куда мы, конечно, не направляемся. Действительно, в ненастное время года там было достаточно холодно! Между этим архипелагом и островами, расположенными на краю Антарктического моря, нет большой разницы! Но он недалеко от мыса, и если мы захотим погреть голени, то никакой айсберг не преградит нам пути. А здесь дьявол встает на якорь, и никогда не знаешь, удастся ли найти ясный путь.
