At Dinner / На ужине

It is Sunday today. The Johnson are at home. At half past two in the afternoon, Mother says, 'Dinner is ready. I tried my best to cook it. I hope it's tasty.' 'That's very good,' says Father, 'I am hungry.' Now the family is sitting at the table. Mother brings in the soup and gives some to Father and the children. Emma: I don't like the soup. It is not tasty. I shall not eat it. (And she begins to play with her bread.) Leo: Emma, don't play with your bread. Don't you know it's very difficult to grow corn and make bread?

Give me another one, please. Oscar: Here is a nice big red apple for you. And do you want a pear?

Emma: Yes, please. (When dinner was over they all thanked Mother and the children helped her to clean the table.)
