Tortilla is a thin flatbread made from flour, most often corn or wheat, and is the national dish of Mexico, as well as Central American countries. The local population has been baking flatbreads from flour since ancient times. Preparation did not take much time, did not require a large set of products and was stored for a long time. Tortilla is used as the basis for a huge number of dishes, wrapping various fillings in a flatbread. Tortillas are also often used instead of bread, as a base for puff pastries and rolls.
